Tiny Napeague Property Sold for How Much?

Strip of land sells for $120,000, according to Newsday.

Suffolk County officials said this week that a 1-foot-by-1,800-foot strip of land on Napeague sold for $120,000, according to a report from Newsday.

The county acquired the land in 2003 for nonpayment of taxes, and decided to try and sell it to surrounding neighbors for $10. Two of them went head-to-head in an auction that started at $1,500.
