Readers On Political Signs: 'Take Them Down Yesterday'

Some would like to see them banned altogether.

Many people have been upset about the number of campaign signs that have remained up after elections conclude, stating that it is the equivalent of litter.

Now that Election Day is over, what do you think is a reasonable time frame for all the political campaign camps to start cleaning up those yard and pole signs used in the campaign? One week? 48 hours?

We asked Patch readers to chime in the question and here's a few of the responses:

L Brook Spencer Yesterday plz

Barbara Strong Borsack In consideration of how exhausted they all must be I would say they should be gone by Saturday - gives them a little time but we really hate them so as soon as possible! Same for Yard Sale signs though! Too many people put them up everywhere and then never take them down!

Ray Card 1 day everyone has had enough

Virginia Meyer Rana Yesterday,finishing today

PJ Delia eyesores. obnoxious. take them down within 48 hours please.
Better yet, ban them

Robert Davis Should be gone by the weekend!

Richard Hall 1 week or they should be fined for each sign.

Pam LaMonda 48 hours max! I really did NOT like the bill-board type signs out there and even the small lawn sign distribution gets carried away. In my opinion, they are now litter and must be removed promptly!
