Marina Fined $50k by DEC; Too Steep?

State says Lake Montauk Club and Marina violated a dredging permit.

The state's Department of Environmental Conservation has slapped at $50,000 fine on the owner of the Lake Montauk Club and Marina for dredging more than its permit allowed.

According to 27 East, the owner, Steve Kalimnios along with, Christopher Gentry, of Seacoast Marine Construction in Sayville, went beyond the 4,000 cubic yard limit that the permit allowed, though they did not have any info on how much more was dredged.
