Hula Hut Proposed in Montauk

An outdoor bar has been proposed at the , again, despite drawing concerns about noise, according to an article in .

Lin Calvo wants to open The Hula Hut in a 224-square-foot converted office trailer. A 50-foot-by-18-foot sand patio would be net to the trailer and there would be an asphalt parking area.

Two special permits for a tavern or bar at the marina and for a multiple-business use on the property and a natural resources permit due to the close proximately to Lake Montauk are required. The application is before the East Hampton Planning Board, with a decision expected soon.

Robert and Marie Rando, owners of the Montauk Sportsman’s Dock next door, have concerns about the added noise.
