East Hampton Supervisor Needs New Assistant

Montauk resident Johnson Nordlinger has left Town Hall.

East Hampton Town Supervisor Bill Wilkinson is in need of a new assistant.

Johnson Nordlinger, a Montauk resident who has worked for Wilkinson since he was first elected four years ago, left without notice one week ago.

She declined to comment, as did Wilkinson.

Meanwhile, Nordlinger is continuing to raise awareness about her 12-year-old goddaughter, a competing gymnast from Rhode Island has been hospitalized since mid-December. Rhana Fleming is suffering from a condition known as as Transverse Myelitis, after becoming suddenly paralyzed.

Nordlinger is a mother of three.

The salary for the assistant to the supervisor's is budgeted at 2013 was just over $53,000, plus about $37,500 in benefits, according to the town budget.
