East Hampton GOP Taps Vice Chairman

Reg Cornelia will work with Tom Knobel in leading the East Hampton Republican Committee.

The East Hampton Republican Committee has a new vice chairman, who will serve along with the new chairman.

The committee voted in Reg Cornelia as vice chairman. He fills the spot formerly held by Tom Knobel, who moved up to the committee chairmanship in December.

Cornelia, a Springs resident, is a graduate of Brooklyn College where he earned a BA in English with a minor in Education. He served with the US Army in Vietnam, is an active member of the VFW and the American Legion, and helped organize the Soldier Ride from 2005 to 2011.

He has served as a member of the Springs School Board and was its President for three years. He has also served on the East Hampton Housing Authority and is currently a member of the Springs Citizens Advisory Committee and the East Hampton Town Nature Preserve Committee.
