East Hampton Community Works to Reach Consensus on Airport Improvement

Town Board member Kathee Burke Gonzales said progress is being made among the members of the committee formed to evaluate operations at the East Hampton airport.  The group will have its work cut out for them as aviation enthusiasts and residents struggling to live under the noise of the flight path have been at odds for years.

"Things are moving faster than we expected," Ms. Burke Gonzales told Newsday. "It's been a tremendous education."

The two groups are expected to present their findings by the end of the summer.
