Dems' Listen-In Tour Stops in East Hampton Thursday

East Hampton Democratic candidates will hear residents concerns at fourth community meeting.

The fourth community "Listen In," hosted by the Democratic candidate for supervisor and town board, is scheduled for Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church Session House in East Hampton.

This discussion, where residents can air their feelings on the topics that most impact them, is meant for residents of East Hampton Village, Northwest Woods, and Wainscott.

Similar meetings have been held in Springs, Montauk, and Amagansett. Another one will be held for residents of Sag Harbor in October.

The evening begins at 6:45 p.m., with refreshments, and the program runs from 7 to 9 p.m.

Larry Cantwell, the Democratic and Independence candidate for supervisor, will moderate along with town board candidates Job Potter and Kathee Burke-Gonzalez.

"There is nothing better than listening directly to what's on the minds of
residents. It helps us find reasonable solutions to the serious issues we
face," Cantwell said.

"It is my belief that there needs to be a return to open governance to help rebuild the public's trust and satisfaction in Town government," Burke-Gonzalez said.

The candidates will respond briefly at the meeting and provide written responses after reviewing and reflecting on the citizen comments.

The next "Listen-In" will be held at Christ Episcopal Church in Sag Harbor on Oct. 6 at 11:30 a.m.
