As Election Season Kicks Off Tell Us Who Should Win in East Hampton

Make your predictions here.

The political signs are popping up around East Hampton, and so are candidates seeking local election to the Islip Town Board come November.

While it looks like Larry Cantwell will be the next supervisor, there are races for two seats on the town council, an assessor seat, and one seat on the town justice court bench, not to mention the town trustees.

Most notably Councilman Dominick Stanzione, the Republican and Independence party candidate, is looking to keep his seat on the town board. His running mate is Fred Overton, currently the town clerk. Challengers are Kathee Burke-Gonzalez and Job Potter, the Democratic candidates.

The town justice race is also one to watch. Democrat Steven Tekulsky, who ran a close race against Town Justice Lisa R. Rana a few years back, and Carl Irace, the Republican and Independence parties candidate, are vying for a seat currently held by Town Justice Catherine A. Cahill.

Eugene de Pasquale, a Democrat, is hoping to keep his position as a town assessor. Joe Bloecker, a Republican who also has the endorsement of the Independence party, is running against him.

What do you think the election will bring? Give us your predictions.
