April 28: Jane Reutershan Retires, Suffolk Bans Some Bath Salts, and Candidates Speak

From Babylon to East Hampton, we're talking county executive race to school board bids.

Will we ever see sunshine again? It feels like the fog won't ever lift. The fog on Wednesday night seemed especially bad, but I hope this means we are close to lots of sunshine in May.

1. Have you noticed the changes to the site? We at Patch hope you like them. They new site design just launched this morning, so if something looks a bit different, that's why. Let us know how you feel about them. We always enjoy the feedback.

2. On Wednesday, we launched the first of our school board candidate profiles, including video. We are sitting down with each candidate, offering them an opportunity to talk about what they bring to the table in a video up to three minutes. East Hampton School Board candidate was up first. Watch for the others all the way up to the election on May 17.

3. Some news from further up the island; , a democrat, has officially joined the race for Suffolk County Executive. Share any thoughts you might have on Bellone for executive on Patch.

4. The found in some bath salts that were found to be "powdered synthetic cocaine" and has been ingested as a hallucinogen. Sale of such bath salts has already been banned in Louisiana, North Dakota, and Florida, as well as other local municipalities.
