5 Things Voters Should Know About Dr. Stephanie Talmage Forsberg

East Hampton Town Trustee candidate shares her views.

East Hampton Patch has asked all the candidates to write up five points voters should know about them as they head to the polls on Nov. 8.  Here is what Dr. Stephanie Talmage Forsberg, an Independence, Republican, and Conservative candidate for , wants you to know about her.

1. Dr. Stephanie Talmage Forsberg is the twelfth generation of her family to live in East Hampton Town. Stephanie and her husband Carl both graduated from East Hampton High School, and this past year they were married in Montauk.  So for this election, you will find her on the ballot under Stephanie Talmage Forsberg.

2. Stephanie is finishing her forth year as an East Hampton Town Trustee, and has been serving as the Assistant Clerk of the Trustees for the past two years.

3. After high school, Stephanie earned her B.S. from Cornell University, a Master’s in Biology from California State University Northridge, and a Ph.D. from Stony Brook University in Marine Science. Currently she is working on obtaining her Master’s in Teaching Degree so that she will be certified to teach science for grades 5-12 on the East End of Long Island.

4. Stephanie has researched many marine environments, all around the globe, from Long Island to Mexico to Tahiti and back.  Her local roots brought her back to study the effects of ocean acidification on our local clams, oysters, and scallops.  This research parallels her work as a Trustee of our marine environments.

5. For the past four years on the Trustee board, Stephanie has worked adamantly to preserve our beaches, to keep beach access for all residents, to fight the salt-water fishing license and fee imposed by the state, as well as numerous other tasks to ensure that all generations of East Hampton Town residents will be able to enjoy the beauty of our beaches today and well into the future.
