5 Things Stephen Lynch Wants Voters To Know

East Hampton Town Highway Superintendent tells us about himself and his view.

East Hampton Patch has asked all the candidates to write up five points voters should know about them as they head to the polls on Nov. 8. Here's Stephen K. Lynch, a candidate for East Hampton Town Highway Superintendent, has to say. He is endorsed by the Republican, Independence, Conservative and Opportunity parties and the CSEA Union.

1. I have lived in East Hampton all of my life.  I am 50 years old, married, and my wife and I have 3 sons, a daughter-in-law and one granddaughter. I have owned my own small business and have over 28 years of experience in excavation, drainage and roadwork.  I am a member of the and the East Hampton Lions Club.

2. I will work diligently with the monies available in the budget to bring our roads up to the standards expected by the East Hampton community and maintain our drainage systems.  I will also update existing equipment to keep maintenance expenses low and purchase the correct equipment to do the job.

3. I will work towards placing a referendum on the 2012 ballot for the leaf program. All residents should have the right to vote on this issue – it’s the American way.

4. I will make all equipment and labor available in emergency situations to the Police, Fire, and Ambulance Departments, as well as the Marine Patrol, when the occasion arises and be available to all residents for their concerns.

5. I promise to raise the moral of all employees so our goals now and into the future can be carried out in a timely fashion. I will administer a work safety program for all workers and listen to their concerns. If and when a problem arises, I will follow the proper procedures to correct the problem.
