Village Police Logs: Officers Make 2 DWI Arrests

East Hampton Village police report two arrests on alleged drunken driving.

The following information was supplied by the East Hampton Village Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate guilt.

• Lali M. Newman, 41, of West Orange, NJ, was arrested on a misdemeanor DWI charge in East Hampton Village on June 10. Police pulled her over in a 2007 Nissan Altima on Woods Lane, where she was allegedly speeding at about 1:30 a.m. She appeared intoxicated, police said. She was released on $350 bail.

• Vincent J. Scheraldi, 43, of Coram, was arrested on a driving while intoxicated charge in East Hampton Village on June 16. According to police, Scheraldi was traveling 45 mph in a 30 mph zone on Main Street in a 2004 Infiniti just after midnight when he swerved into the shoulder near Jericho Road. Police stopped him on Montauk Highway near Stephen Hands Path, and he appeared drunk, they said. Following arraignment, he was released on $350 bail.
