Town Police Log: DWI Arrest Made After Cedar Street Accident

The following information was supplied by the East Hampton Town Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate guilt.

On Jan. 19, East Hampton Police charged Christian Beruzuta, 28, of East Hampton with DWI with a BAC of .08 after he was involved in a motor vehicle accident on Cedar Street near Coopers Lane.  Police also charged Beruzuta with aggravated unlicensed operation in the first degree. The car he was driving, a black Pontiac Grand AM, was impounded. Beruzuta was released on $5,000 bail.

Possession of Stolen Property

On Jan. 22, East Hampton Police charged Gladys Chaca-Quizphi, 30, of Southampton with criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree.  Police reported that they stopped Chaca-Quizphi on North Main and a check of her registration showed that the plates on the car did not match the registration. Upon investigation, police said the plates had been reported stolen. Chaca-Quizphi was released on a $50 appearance ticket. She is due back in court on Feb. 9.
