Sag Harbor Police Log: DWI Arrest on Hampton Street

East Hampton man pulled over after speeding and other traffic violations, police say.

Driving While Intoxicated

• Aron Holewinski, 24, of East Hampton, was arrested Feb. 24 at 12:54 a.m. on Hampton Street and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. According to the arrest report, Holewinski was driving a 1998 Dodge Caravan north on Main Street when he ran the stop sign at the corner of Bay Street, then failed to signal while making a right turn from Bay Street onto Division Street. He crossed over the double yellow line and was driving more than 55 miles per hour in the 40-mile-per-hour zone on Hampton Road, police said. The arrest report states that when police pulled him over near Lincoln Street, they found he was intoxicated. He was held overnight for morning arraignment in Sag Harbor Village Justice Court.
