Sag Harbor Police Log: Driver Hit Traffic Officer During Illegal Turn

Bridgehampton man charged with reckless endangerment.

Reckless Endangerment

• A 48-year-old Bridgehampton man, was arrested Aug. 3 at 4:50 p.m. and charged with second-degree reckless endangerment and obstructing governmental administration, both misdemeanors.

According to the arrest report, he was attempting to make an illegal left turn across a safety zone and crosswalk in front of Sag Harbor Pharmacy on Main Street when he drove into a traffic control officer who was standing in front of his vehicle.

He was processed at police headquarters then released on $100 stationhouse bail, the arrest report stated. He is due in court Aug. 20.

The arrest report did not cite any injuries to the traffic control officer.
