Report: ACLU Director Was Celebrating Gay Marriage Before DWI Arrest

The New York Post says an e-mail reveals he had been drinking.

ACLU Executive Director had been celebrating the passage of the Marriage Equality Act before he was pulled over on a driving while intoxicated charge in East Hampton Village in June, according to The New York Post.

On Thursday, The Post revealed an e-mail from ACLU President Susan Herman to board members that said that Romero had been drinking at an East Hampton party in celebration of the gay marriage law that passed just two days earlier.

He then got behind the wheel and was pulled over by police for allegedly swerving and moving at a snail's pace.
