State Police have charged three people, and cited the stores where they work, for selling alcoholic beverages to a minor serving as a police operative, police said.
On Wednesday, the troopers conducted the Underage Drinker Enforcement Operation in the Town of Southampton. Karen Y. Castillo, 24 of Flanders, a clerk at the Flanders Deli & Grocery, Josselin Garcia-Aquino, 20, of Riverhead, a clerk in the Hampton Deli, in Flanders, and Marcia C. Cole, 52, of Riverhead, a clerk in the Hess Gas, in Southampton were issued appearance tickets for selling alcoholic beverages to a minor, returnable to the Town of Southampton.
All three defendants were issued appearance tickets returnable to Town of Southampton Court.
The following establishments were also targeted and were found to be in compliance:
1) Thrifty Beverage Center-Riverhead
2) Shell Gas Mart-Hampton Bays
3) Melrose Deli-Hampton Bays
4) Bays Liquor-Hampton Bays
5) Hampton Bays Wines & Liquor-Hampton Bays
6) Hampton Beverage-Hampton Bays
7) Shell Gas Market-Southampton
