The Southampton Town Police arrested a Speonk man for aggravated DWI and traffic violations.
On Thursday, at approximately 2:53 in the morning, the police saw Joaquin I. Alvarado, 23, attempting to extricate his vehicle from a patch of soft sand on the shoulder of Old Country Road in Speonk.
Further investigation revealed Alvarado was drunk. He was taken to police headquarters, processed and held for morning arraignment.
