Police: Motorcyclist Air-Lifted After Crash with Bus in East Hampton

At approximately 11 on Saturday morning, a man on a motorcycle was seriously injured in a crash with a bus at the intersection of Buell Lane and Main Street in East Hampton. According to 27East, the motorcyclist pulled out into traffic and cut off the bus. 

The name of the motorcyclist has not yet been released by the East Hampton Village Police. The East Hampton Star reports the injured motorcyclist was taken by the East Hampton Village Ambulance association to a field adjacent to the Bridgehampton Fire Department where he was placed on a helicopter and taken to Stony Brook Hospital. The EMT’s had initially thought to have the helicopter land at East Hampton Airport but delays made it prudent to route the rescue through Bridgehampton.

The motorcyclist is hospitalized at Stony Brook with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. He was the only person hurt in the collision
