Police: Montauk Woman Drove Drunk With 4 Kids in Car

A Montauk woman was arrested Saturday night for driving while intoxicated with four children in her car, State Police said.

Elizabeth A. Forsberg, 40, was stopped by troopers for a traffic violation on Flamingo Avenue shortly after 9:30 p.m., police said.

Troopers detected an odor of alcohol from Forsberg, who then proceeded to fail field sobriety tests, police said.

Forsberg was transported to the State Police station in Riverside, where a court-ordered blood test was taken, police said.

There were four children–including two of Forsberg's own children–between the ages of 5 and 10 in Forsberg's car at the time of her arrest, police said. All of the children were released to the parent of family friends, police said.

Forsberg is charged with aggravated DWI with a child passenger 15 years old or younger, a felony under Leandra's Law. She was held in police custody overnight and was scheduled to be arraigned at East Hampton Town Justice Court on Sunday.
