Police Make Burglary, Forgery, and Drunken Driving Arrests

The following arrest reports were released on Jan. 3.

According to , Wilson E. Vega, 27, reportedly burglarized a house where he used to live on New Year's Day.

Police said Vega entered a house on Three Mile Harbor Road, near Abraham's Path, through a back door, grabbed $550 cash in an envelope, and hid in a bedroom. A witness confronted him and he fled through the bedroom window at about 11:15 p.m.

The witness, whom police said was the sister of Vega's former girlfriend, identified him. Police said his ex-girlfriend, with whom he has a child, also lived at the residence, but it was unclear whose money it was he allegedly stole. Police also said he used to live at the house.

Vega was arrested at his house on Queens Lane on Sunday at about 10:50 a.m., and charged with second-degree burglary, a felony.

Following an arraignment in on Monday, Vega was released on $5,000 bail.

John B. Ivolin, 20, of Montauk, was charged with second-degree forgery, a felony, and petty larceny, a misdemeanor, on Dec. 23 after he allegedly forged six of his aunt's checks.

Anne Querrard told police at about 3 p.m. that she had received a call from a friend who is a teller at the in Montauk, who said that Ivolin, her nephew, had tried to cash one of her checks for $150. Querrard went down to the bank to review her statement history and found that five checks had been forged and cashed for a total of $920 between Dec. 18 and Dec. 21. She advised police that her nephew had "attempted to forge her checks in the past and that the handwriting on the printed copies [sic] appears to be that of the defendant's."

Ivolin was not home at the time, but when he returned just after 6 p.m., Querrard called police. He was charged at about 6:30 p.m. East Hampton Town Justice Catherine A. Cahill released him on $750 bail on Dec. 24.

On Christmas Eve, Mino Omeragic of Fort Lee, N.J., was arrested on a misdemeanor driving while intoxicated charge in Wainscott. Town police said Omeragic, who is 49, was traveling west on Montauk Highway in a 2007 Lincoln at about 2:45 a.m. He was "swerving on and off of the soft shoulder and then back over the oncoming lane of travel just missing utility poles and oncoming vehicles," police said. After failing sobriety tests, he was arrested at about 3 a.m. His blood alcohol level was reportedly .17. Justice Cahill released him on $250 bail.
