The Southampton Town Police have arrested a Hampton Bays man for drunken driving.
On Wednesday, at about 2:09 am, on the Montauk Highway West in Hampton Bays, Daniel Luevano-Mendez, 28, was involved in a crash and drove off the road and struck a tree, police said. He was the only occupant in his vehicle and did not suffer any injuries.
Subsequently, it was revealed that he was drunk, police said. He was arrested at the scene, transported to police headquarters for processing and held for morning arraignment.
