Police: Four Driving Drunk; One Man Gives False Name

East Hampton police reports released for the week.

The released the following arrest reports for the week of Jan. 17.

During a traffic stop on Jan. 8, Angel R. Palacios Parra of Springs was charged with false personation, a misdemeanor. Police had pulled him over on Harborview Avenue, near Three Mile Harbor Road, after they noticed an expired registration sticker. The driver initially identified himself as Daniel Parra by producing a Visa debit card with that name on it.

When asked to provide a valid identification or passport, he said they were at his house. While he was trying to locate registration and insurance information, the officer noticed an envelope containing traffic tickets in it with the name Angel R. Palacios on it. He was placed under arrest, and police found an Ecuador photo identification with his real name on it. He was released on $110 bail.

Jose M. Tacuri, 21, of East Hampton, was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated because his blood alcohol was allegedly above .18 when he was arrested in Amagansett on Sunday. Police said they noticed a Toyota Celica swerving as it headed east on Montauk Highway, near Miankoma Lane, at about 1:45 a.m.

When police checked his license with the State Department of Motor Vehicles, they found his license had been suspended twice on May 29, 2010 for failure to answer summons. He was also charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

Catherine A. Cahill arraigned him later that day and released him on $1,000 bail.

Lalo G. Reale, 36, of Sag Harbor, was charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated after he was pulled over on Oak View Highway in East Hampton on Sunday at about 4 a.m. Police said he had also been swerving. His car was also impounded under the Suffolk County DWI seizure law, police said. After his arraignment, Cahill released him on $250 bail.

Santiago E. Perez, 31, of East Hampton, was charged with DWI on Monday at about 1 a.m. Police said his Honda crossed into the opposite lane of travel on Springs Fireplace Road, near Woodbine Drive, in Springs. He was stopped near Hartley Boulevard and was placed under arrest at about 1:15 a.m. Following his arraignment later that morning, he was released on $250 bail.

Jennifer P. Zuleta Castano, 24, of Montauk, was charged with DWI on Jan. 11. Police said her Toyota failed to maintain its lane of trvel on Montauk Highway, near The Plaza, in Montauk, at about 7:45 p.m. She was stopped near Elwell Street. She refused to take a breathylzer test.
