PHOTOS: Firefighters Extinguish Chimney Fire

There's little rest for firefighters, even over the holidays.

Firefighters were hard at work over the holidays. On Dec.22, the East Hampton Fire Department was called out for a reported chimney fire at 46 Highway Behind the Pond in the village, just after 7 p.m. Engine company members extinguished the fire, while members of Hook and Ladder Company #1 used their tower ladder and chimney brushes to clear the chimney of any additional accelerants. There were no injuries, and all units were placed back in service in a little over an hour.
