Oil Tank Leak Calls Hazmat Team To Hands Creek

East Hampton Fire Department cleans up spill Friday morning.

The East Hampton Fire Department responded to a house on Hands Creek Road after an oil tank malfunctioned on Friday morning.

Called at about 10:15 a.m., the Hazmat team cleaned up the spill, reported to be about 40 gallons of oil on the basement floor.

Fire police shut down Hands Creek Road, at Clamshell Avenue, so that trucks could easily access the driveway.
