Police need to wait for a report from the Suffolk County Medical Examiner's office, authorities said.

Five days after a body was found in the Montauk Dunes, police have not yet been able to release a name.

According to East Hampton Town Police Captain Chris Anderson on Wednesday, "No identity has been released as of yet." The matter is currently under investigation by the Suffolk County Medical Examiner, he said.

Police found the body Friday in the dunes along Old Montauk Highway near Cleveland Drive in Montauk.

Officers searching the immediate area located a deceased individual in the dunes, police said.

Police said at this time, the death is not believed to be suspicious.
