Hazmat Team Responds To Spill in Village Lot

A fluid spill behind Village Hardware brought out the fire department on Tuesday.

The East Hampton Fire Department was called out a clean-up a spill behind Village Hardware, in the Schenck parking lot, on Tuesday morning.

The Hazmat team responded with two trucks after a truck reportedly spilled some hydraulic fluid in the municipal lot after the call at 8:10 a.m.

The fire department left the scene by about 8:40 a.m. That section of the lot remains closed, however.
