Grand Jury Indicts Man on Alleged East Hampton Rape

Jason Lee won't be arraigned on indictment until Sept. 20.

The man accused of rape last week has been indicted.

According to Suffolk County Court records online, a grand jury indicted Jason Lee Tuesday on three counts, including the arrest charge of first-degree rape. The grand jury also indicted him on two additional counts, sexual misconduct and third-degree assault, a misdemeanor.

Lee, a 37-year-old Goldman Sachs banker, was arrested last week after a 20-year-old woman accused him of forcing her to have sex with him at his house on Clover Leaf Lane. Detective Lt. Chris Anderson said the victim, whose identity is protected under State law, reported the rape soon after and that Lee and the woman had just met each other that night.

Lee's attorney Edward Burke Jr. declined to comment on Tuesday, but last week he said his client "adamant that this did not occur."

Lee won't be arraigned on the indictment in Suffolk County Criminal Court until Sept. 20. He remains free on $20,000 bail.

The case has been assigned to Judge Barbara Kahn.
