Former Sag Harbor Resident Paul Lipomi Dies at 86

He served two tours of duty with the U.S. Navy

Paul Lipomi, formerly of Sag Harbor, died March 24 at his home in Southampton surrounded by his family. He was 86.

Lipomi was a graduate of Pierson High School and Farmingdale State College. He served two tours of duty with the U.S. Navy

Lipomi was retired from the plumbing and heating business. A 50-year member of the Southampton Fire Department, he was especially proud to have been a member of the Agawam Engine Company.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Genevieve; a daughter, Diane, and her husband, David.

The family received friends at the O’Connell Funeral Home in Southampton Village on March 26. A funeral mass was held March 27 at Our Lady of Poland Roman Catholic Church in Southampton with interment following at St. Andrews Cemetery in Sag Harbor.

Memorial donations may be made to either the Southampton Fire Department or Southampton Hospital Foundation.
