Fight Breaks Out at the Point in Montauk

The following incidents were reported by police on Oct. 28:

Amagansett

• A Mongoose bicycle was taken from a house on Schellinger Road on Oct. 17 between 5 and 7 p.m. It was worth about $100.

East Hampton

• A woman on Boatsteerer's Court said that she packed her car with two Tumi suitcases with about $5,500 worth of clothes, a laptop and $500 in cash on the night of Oct. 1, and when she went back to her car at about 11 p.m., the items were gone. She did not file a complaint right away, as she was going on a trip, but after she got back she asked neighbors and looked around the neighborhood. When her search came up empty, she went to police on Oct. 16.

• An employee at Cook, Hall & Hyde said a customer tried to satisfy part of a $749 insurance bill with a counterfeit $100 bill on Oct. 14. Police spoke to the customer on Oct. 26, and she said she does not know how she got a counterfeit bill and has since paid the company the $100.

Montauk

• Police responded to the Point Bar and Grill for a fight on Oct. 13 at about 1:30 a.m. One man, who had a cut above his left eye, said he had been struck with a bottle, but he wasn't sure who had done so. Bouncers intervened and had everyone involve leave the bar. The victim was taken to the Southampton Hospital.

• Two guitar stands and a Carvin amplifier were stolen after a band performed at Swallow East on West Lake Drive on Sept. 28. The equipment was worth about $640.

• A Tarrytown woman said her purse was stolen while she was at the Memory Motel on Sept. 1 and one of her credit cards was used that day at the Sloppy Tuna. There was gold bracelet, worth $200, inside the purse, as well as credit cards and her license. One card was used at the Sloppy Tuna for a $26.40 purchase at about 4:10 a.m., police said.

Springs

• An outboard motor was taken from a 10-foot dinghy at Maidstone Marina on Three Mile Harbor-Hog Creek Road sometime between Oct. 6 and 16. The dinghy was on the deck of a 53-foot boat at the marina. A report was filed Oct. 22. The motor was worth about $1,600.
