East Hampton Marine Patrol Aids in Search for Missing Man in Water Mill

Police are combing the waters for a man who fell off a jet ski on Sunday.

East Hampton Marine Patrol officers are assisting in the underwater search for a missing man in Water Mill on Monday.

A 29-year-old man was reported missing after his jet ski overturned in the choppy waters of Mecox Bay on Sunday at about 6:45 p.m. Fire departments — including the water rescue team from East Hampton Fire Department — searched for the man for about two hours, until nightfall and a storm descended on the area.

Southampton Town police, divers, and bay constables resumed the search on Monday at about 6:30 a.m., setting up a mobil command post on Flying Point Road in Water Mill.
