East Hampton Firefighters Put Out Car Fire in Wainscott

Car on Montauk Highway was fully engulfed in flames.

East Hampton firefighters extinguished a car that burst into flames on Montauk Highway in Wainscott on Monday afternoon. At 2:46 p.m., the East Hampton Fire Department responded after a passing Shelter Island firefighter called in the fire. Arriving units found the vehicle, near Daniels Hole Road, fully engulfed in flames, but they were able to extinguish it quickly and without incident.
