Crimes Nearby: Woman Found Dead in DMV Parking Lot

Also: Mattituck man was arrested on assault charges.

The following were reports came from the East End police departments.

SOUTHAMPTON

• Ronald Adam, 47, of Southampton, was charged with felony DWI May 5 at 7:49 p.m. after police stopped him on County Road 39 in Southampton, according to the arrest report. Police said Adam showed signs of intoxication such as slurred speech and problems standing. Cops said they also discovered an open 12-ounce can of Coors Light beer in the vehicle, which is classified as a violation. Adam was charged with unlawfully consuming alcohol in a motor vehicle and he was issued a traffic summons for unsafe turning without signaling. The DWI's elevation to a felony stemmed from a previous conviction, police said.

WESTHAMPTON-HAMPTON BAYS

•  reported May 2 that detectives arrested 28-year-old medical assistant Tiffany Langhorne, of Shirley, at the Prime Care medical clinic on West Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays. The former employee was charged with one count of second-degree forgery, a D felony, for forging doctors’ signatures on prescription pads in order to obtain a quantity of the controlled narcotics Percocet and Vicodin at various pharmacies, according to police.

• Arnoldo Sandolva-Palenzia, 25 of Riverhead was charged with Forgery in the second degree, a felony, on April 30. According to Westhampton Beach Police, Sandolva-Palenzia allegedly forged a prescription at on Sunset Avenue. He was released on $250 bail.

• On April 29, Westhampton Beach police nabbed Jose Martinez-Perez, 57 of Westhampton Beach on Peters Lane after police say he failed to maintain his lane. Police charged Martinez-Perez with DWI and as an aggravated unlicensed driver, a felony. Police say Martinez-Perez had a prior DWI conviction. Martinez-Perez was held on $1,500 bail and remanded to the Suffolk County Jail in Riverside.

RIVERHEAD

• Suffolk County police said on May 8 that a body found on Monday at the Peconic Plaza in Riverhead was identified as Flanders resident Mirian Garcia. Garcia was a 29-year-old resident of Bell Avenue. The Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner determined the woman’s death is a homicide. On Monday, a female body was found in the Peconic Plaza, near the Department of Motor Vehicles, according to the Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad. Detectives are reporting that  were called around 8:20 a.m. to 200 Old Country Road in Riverhead. The woman's body was taken to the Suffolk County Medical Examiner where an autopsy will be performed, according to police.

NORTH FORK

• Heath Austin Leacy, 40, of Mattituck, was charged with second-degree assault on May 5 at 11:54 a.m., after police responded to a report of an assault at 570 Pacific Street in Mattituck, police said. Upon arrival, officers on the scene found that a55-year-old Mattituck man had been assaulted with a knife had sustained a laceration to his face, police said. The man identified his attacker as Leacy who was found still at the residence, police said. Leacy was taken into custody without incident, charged with the assault, and held pending arraignment. The victim was transported by members of the to for his injuries.

• Raymond Warenik III, 19, of West Islip, was charged with driving while intoxicated on May 6 at 3:51 a.m. on Route 25 in Mattituck after police stopped him in a 2009 Dodge to question him about a criminal mischief incident that had occurred earlier in the evening, police said. He was found to be operating his vehicle while impaired by alcohol and was arrested, transported to police headquarters in Peconic, processed, and released on cash bail to return to Southold Town Justice Court at a later date, police said.

• Andrea D. Seitz, 28, of Middle Island, was charged with DWI on May 6 at 7:52 p.m., after police stopped her for failing to maintain her lane while driving a 2001 Nissan west on Route 25 in Mattituck, police said. A further investigation found Seitz to be intoxicated, and she was arrested, transported to Southold Police Department headquarters in Peconic, processed, and held until arraignment in the morning, police said.

• Vincent A. Ricciardi, 50, of Southold, was charged with DWI on May 6 at 10:36 p.m., after police stopped him for failing to maintain his lane on Route 25 in Southold and he was found to be intoxicated, police said. Ricciardi was arrested and transported to police headquarters in Peconic where he was processed and held to await arraignment.
