Crimes Nearby: Drug Possessions, DWIs

The following information was supplied by police departments on the East End. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate guilt.

Westhampton-Hampton Bays

Police charged Jeremy Rosendahl, 32 of East Quogue, with criminal possession in the seventh-degree on Feb. 8 after pulling him over in Riverside. Police said Rosendahl had a needle in plain view and admitted to having heroin hidden in his shoe. Police also charged Rosendahl with having a suspended registration and for having an uninsured car.

Police charged Cosmo Narracci, 44, of Huntington, with DWAI by alcohol on Feb. 7. Police say Narracci was pulled over on Old Country Road in East Quogue after he was involved in a car accident. Police also charged him with failure to use designated lane.

On Feb. 1, Southampton Police charged Brian Miller, 37 of Southampton, with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, alcohol related. Police said they pulled Miller over on South Country Road in Remsenburg for not having a rear license plate. Upon investigation, they found that Miller's license was revoked from a DWI charge he received on April 18, 2006. Miller was also charged for not having a license plate lamp.

On Feb. 8, police charged Gayle Valentine, 48, of East Quogue, with criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree. Police say Valentine was involved in a domestic dispute with her live-in boyfriend and allegedly hit him several times with an umbrella. She was also charged with menacing and harassment.

Riverhead

Luz Gutierrez, 32, of Riverhead, was arrested on petty larceny charges on Jan. 11. Police reports state that Gutierrez removed children's toys, food, beverages, kitchenware and clothes from K-Mart without paying for them. He was transported to police headquarters, processed, released on $200 bail and given a desk appearance ticket.

Benjamin Gilliam, 50, of Riverhead, was arrested on Feb. 8 on petty larceny charges. According to police reports, Gilliam stole $298 in groceries from Stop and Shop on Route 58. Reports state that Gilliam was caught by store security cameras concealing merchandise. He was placed under arrest on a civilian complaint, transported to police headquarters, processed, and held for arraignment.

North Fork

Michael Massaro, 29, of Ronkonkoma, was charged with second-degree assault, driving while impaired by drugs, resisting arrest, unlawful possession of marijuana and second-degree obstruction of governmental administration on Feb. 14 at 4:17 p.m., after a Southold Town Police officer stopped him for driving a 2006 Toyota with no front license plate and an expired inspection sticker on Sound Avenue in Mattituck, police said.

Susan Langenfass, 47, of Cutchogue, was charged with driving while intoxicated on Feb. 9 at 2:26 a.m. after police stopped her for failing to maintain her lane while driving east on Route 25 in Cutchogue with a flat tire and other recent damage to her vehicle, police said. After investigation, Langenfass was found to be intoxicated, was arrested and transported to police headquarters where she was processed and held pending arraignment, police said.

Marco Amay, 19, of East Hampton, was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, unlawful possession of marijuana, and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle on Feb. 11 at 1:48 a.m., after police stopped him for failing to maintain his lane on Route 25 in Cutchogue, police said. The officer smelled marijuana on Amay and found marijuana in the vehicle, police said. Amay was arrested and transported to police headquarters in Peconic where he was held pending arraignment.

Cornelius Whalen, 66, of Mattituck, was charged with driving while intoxicated on Feb. 14 at 12:46 a.m., after police stopped him for a traffic violation on Wickham Avenue in Mattituck, police said. He was found to be intoxicated, arrested and transported to police headquarters where he was processed and held pending arraignment.

Southampton

Southampton Town police charged Todd Levy, 43, of Mastic Beach, with criminal possession of a controlled substance on Feb. 9 after pulling him over for speeding. Police said Levy also had no plate lamp. Police said that upon a search of Levy’s car, they found a quantity of heroin.
