Crimes Nearby: 3 Nabbed on Drug Charges in West Hampton Dunes

Also: Mattituck man caught driving drunk with children in tow, police say.

The following information was supplied by the East End police departments. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate guilt.

WESTHAMPTON

Police on Monday arrested three people for cocaine possession on Widgeon Way in West Hampton Dunes.

West Hampton Dunes Police Constables said they found cocaine in a car driven by Maria S. Cepparo, 41, who resides in both Brentwood and Port Jefferson Station, and arrested her and two of her passengers.

The arrest comes a few months after Cepparo, a mother of four, was charged in May with leaving her children in a hot, unlocked car while she drank in a Holbrook bar.

Cepparo is due in court Thursday to face those charges.

NORTH FORK

• A man was arrested in Mattituck on Oct. 12 and charged with driving drunk with two small children in the car, police said. According to Southold Town police, Brentwood resident Justo Fajadro, 22, was arrested at 3:21 a.m. on Sound Avenue and Aldrich Lane after he was stopped for failure to maintain his lane, police said.

Police said Fajadro was found to be intoxicated with two children, ages 2 and 7, in the car. Fajadro was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, a felony, due to violation of Leandra's Law.

SOUTHAMPTON

• Several items, including expensive jewelry, were stolen from a house on Noyac Path in Sag Harbor on Oct. 10 between 7:15 a.m. and 7 p.m. A woman said she left her door unlocked so that her friend could drop off a table. A $100 bill, which she had left for the friend, was stolen, along with her $5,000 engagement ring, two $800 wedding bands, and another $5,000 ring.

• More than $5,000 worth of jewelry was reported missing on Oct. 10, five days after it was last seen during a move at a North Bishop Lane house in Southampton. The owner said she looked for it for four days, but could not find it.
