Cops Say Drunken Driver Had No License

East Hampton Village police reported one DWI arrest this week.

The following information was supplied by the East Hampton Village Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate guilt.

• Segundo Porfio Quezada, 48, of Southampton, was arrested on a drunken driving charge in East Hampton Village on Dec. 8. While on a routine patrol, police said they saw a 2004 Nissan Xterra speeding as it headed west on Montauk Highway, near Cove Hollow Road, at 2:55 a.m. The car was doing 44 mph in a 30 mph zone, police said. The SUV also allegedly crossed over the yellow lines and into the shoulder of the roadway. An officer stopped the car. The driver did not have a license and failed all field sobriety tests, police said. He was charged with misdemeanor DWI, unlicensed operator, driving on the shoulder, and several other traffic infractions. He reportedly refused to take a breath test. His vehicle was seized.
