Cops: Sag Harbor Woman Crashed Audi and Fled

The following information was supplied by the Sag Harbor Village Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate guilt.

• Rebecca J. Lundahl, 64, of Sag Harbor, was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and leaving the scene of an accident, a violation, on Nov. 9 at around 9:20 p.m. 

Police said a man called them after hearing a loud crash on Madison Street. He said he saw 2001 Audi TT in the middle of the road with a lot of damage to the passenger side. The right front axel was also broken, he said. His grandmother's 2011 Nissan that was parked on the street was also damaged. 

A witness told police they saw a woman standing outside the car, who seemed "a little off and possibly intoxicated." She then got back in her car and drove about 10 feet. The damage to her Audi stopped her from going further, police said. 

However, she walked on foot onto Henry Street. Police found the woman on Division Street and Jermain Avenue. They said she appeared intoxicated and failed several field sobriety tests. She was arrested and held overnight for arraignment.

• A 63-year-old Sagaponack man was arrested on a misdemeanor charge on Nov. 11 at headquarters. According to police, they received a complaint from a man who said he saw the Sagaponack man parked on Main Street with clothing that belonged to him in his vehicle after the Sagaponack man had been a guest at his house. Southampton Town police took a complaint for petty larceny, since the theft occurred on the Bridgehampton-Sag Harbor Turnpike. Village police charged him with criminal possession of stolen property.
