Cops: Red Jeep May Be Linked To Burglary at Breast Cancer Patient's House

East Hampton Town police ask that if you know anything about this Jeep that you call them.

East Hampton Town police are seeking information about a red Jeep that may be connected to a residential burglary in Springs earlier this month.

Detective Lt. Chris Anderson said on Monday that the Jeep could be related to a burglar on Gardiner's Avenue, in which a woman battling breast cancer lost nearly $2,000.

Police need the community's help in identifying the vehicle or its owner. All calls will be kept confidential, he said.

Chris Foran reported her house burglarized on May 7 — sometime between 1:15 and 5:30 p.m., according to a police report. The thief or thieves entered through a back door. Police took fingerprints and pictures, but no arrests have been yet. In addition to cash and change, they also stole several pieces of Foran's jewelry.

She said that some of the money was for her to use towards her cancer treatment and some of the money had been raised for her Heaven Can Wait team that participates in the LI2Day Walk, which helps raise money for breast cancer-related initiatives, like Lucia's Room at Southampton Hospital.

If you have information regarding this Jeep, police have asked that you contact them at 631-537-7575.
