Cops: Man Accused of Rape, Held On $1 Million Bond

East Hampton Town police say Ramiro M. Pillco admitted to sexual assaulting victim.

said a 38-year-old man sexually assaulted a victim less than 17 a total of five times since April.

Ramiro M. Pillco was arrested on five counts each of first-degree rape by forcible compulsion, a felony, and child endangerment, a misdemeanor, on Monday.

According to police, he admitted to having sexual intercourse with the victim.

Pillco is being held on $1 million bond and $550,000 bail.

The investigation began when the victim came forward on Monday, police said. Police did not release information as to the relationship of the victim and the defendant if any. Pillco's address has been withheld.

Detectives said they went to the scene of the alleged rapes and collected several items as possible evidence. They also obtained several statements, police said.

Catherine A. Cahill arraigned Pillco on Tuesday. As of Friday, his bail had not been posted at the Suffolk County jail in Riverside.

Child Protective Services was called into investigate. Police said a Family Court order of protection will be sought. For now, the justice has issued a "stay-away" order of protection to the victim.
