The following information was supplied by the East Hampton Village Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate guilt.• A Medford man was arrested in East Hampton Village on Aug. 16 after police said he was driving drunk.
Joseph James Dill, who is 27, was stopped in a 2010 Jeep Wrangler on Montauk Highway, near Cove Hollow Road, for reportedly speeding at about 2:30 a.m. Police said he was driving 66 mph in a 30 mph zone.
He appeared intoxicated and failed all field sobriety tests, police said. An officer searched his Jeep and found a blue pill marked with a label of COR132 in a black bag. Such pills are a type of amphetamine.
Dill was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor as his blood alcohol level was reportedly above .18, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, also a misdemeanor, and speeding.
He was released on $1,000 bail.
