Amagansett Fire Department to Celebrate 100 Years

The Amagansett Fire Department will celebrate its
100th Anniversary on Saturday, July 12 with a parade from the American Legion, at the corner of Abraham’s Path and the Montauk Highway, to the firehouse beginning at 11 a.m. rain or shine.

Following the parade, there will be a short ceremony at the firehouse accompanied by refreshments and entertainment. There will be music, children’s games, face painting and rides as well as hamburgers, hot dogs and lemonade.

At 1 o'clock in the afternoon the awards for the best floats in the parade will be announced and the firehouse competitions—fire pumping, bucket brigades, and a display of antique fire trucks—will take place. The competitions end with an awards ceremony at 4 p.m.
