Three people were taken to Southampton Hospital after a two-car accident on the Napeague Stretch on Monday.

The accident occurred on Montauk Highway near Napeague Harbor Road at about 11:40 a.m.

Chief Ed Ecker said a box truck and a Honda Civic collided. The driver of the truck and the driver and a passenger of the Honda were taken to the hospital. Injuries were not life threatening, he said.

Detective Lt. Chris Anderson said the eastbound car crossed the center line, hitting the westbound truck. He said he didn't know what caused the driver to leave his side of the road.

No arrests or summonses were reported, Anderson said.
