$5k Reward For Info Leading To Arrest of Hit-and-Run Driver

Police are asking for the public's help in finding the driver who struck and killed a 61-year-old man and then left the scene.

East Hampton Town police announced on Wednesday morning that there is a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest in the hit-and-run accident that killed a pedestrian in Amagansett on Tuesday night.

Detectives are working with Crime Stoppers of Suffolk County to help find the driver, who fled the scene after the crash occurred sometime before 7:52 p.m., when emergency personnel were notified by a passing motorist.

John Judge, a 61-year-old who frequented Astro Pizza on Main Street, was found on the street, across from the restaurant, next to the tire of a truck that was parked on the east side. Judge was transported to Southampton Hospital and emergency room personnel pronounced him dead.
