What Our Readers Think: Longtime Detective Takes Top Honor

The community shows its appreciation for Town Police Detective Tina Giles, after she is named 2012 Officer of the Year.

Earlier this week, we told you that East Hampton Town Police Detective Tina Giles was named the department's 2012 Officer of the Year.

A 27-year veteran of the department, and its first, and only, female detective, Giles is well-respected among her peers and in the community. That was never more apparent than when East Hampton Patch readers congratulated Giles on her award. It's clear she is a valued part of East Hampton.

East Hampton Village Administrator Larry Cantwell said, "Tina, You make us all proud, congratulations for the work you do and the person you are."
