Visitation for Robert Earl Dean To Be Held Wednesday, Mass on Thursday

The 79-year-old was a Springs resident.

Robert Earl Dean, who lived on Lincoln Avenue in Springs for 13 years, died at Southampton Hospital on Jan. 4. He was 79.

Visitation will be held for Dean on Wednesday, Jan. 8 at Yardley and Pino Funeral Home in East Hampton from 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass will be held at Most Holy Trinity Church in East Hampton on Jan. 9 at 10 a.m., followed by burial at Most Holy Trinity Cemetery.

Dean, who worked as an electronic engineer for Bell Laboratories, served in the Navy from 1953 to 1957.

He was born to Earl Dean and the former Alice Gregory on May 8, 1934 in Torrington, Conn. He graduated from Gilbert High School in Winsted, Conn. He also attended the University of Hartford.

He is survived by his wife, the former Shirley Welcome, and three children, David Dean, of High Bridge, NJ, Nancy Bunce, of East Hampton, and Brian Dean, of East Hampton. Six grandchildren and nine nieces and nephews also survive.
