Holy Cow! The outpouring of support for our friends up west from the East End communities has been amazing. People have been working from even before the storm finished to make sure help was getting where it's needed. The FB Group East End Cares has become a clearinghouse for information, and we think it's helping.
The East End Cares team has been getting volunteers to work, setting up donation collection options - both items and monetary, sorting through donations already received, setting up a bus to the Rockaways for an East End volunteer clean-up crew - they even helped coordinate an airlift of insulin from East Hampton to the Rockaways last night for a 9-year old girl. If you haven't already done so, please join the group and find out how you can help. There are so many people who need urgent help, and we're finding that so many people want to give it!
Our priority right now is to fill a bus heading from the East End to the Rockaways with volunteers, equipment and supplies
