The bonackers took the field on Friday night against the Babylon High School Football team, ranked 3rd in Division IV. They proved to be a tough match, and although the Bonackers were defeated 44-7, there were some bright moments, that definitely show that these boys have the potential to improve in the weeks to come, and hopefully get to the playoffs for the first time in a few years.
Babylon scored 16 points quickly in the 1st Quarter, and then another strike early in the Second.
Bonacker Senior Peter Vaziri caught a pass from QB Cortland Heneveld and ran for a 13 yard Touchdown towards the end of the 2nd quarter, with Sergio Bentacour kicking the Field Goal to end the half 23-7.
Unable to put up more points in the 2nd Half, the Bonackers never gave up, and proved to be a tough group of guys that will certainly come back stronger and more determined next Friday night.
2nd Game is Friday September 14, at Stony Brook High School.
GO BONAC!!
