A single-family home on the Dune Alpin Farm is for sale.

A single-family residence that sits on the Dune Alpin Farm has hit the market for $1,975,000.

The house, at 4 Pony Ramble, is being marketed as a two-story, modern home that was built in 1985. It features 4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, a full basement, a pool, garage and two fireplaces.

The home, with taxes listed at $12,000, sits on .78 acres.

The property in which the homes sits, according to listing agents Judi A Desiderio and Richard Swift, of Town and Country Real Estate, dates back 230 years when the McAlpin family owned and operated one of the original East End dairy farms on the 85-acres of the total 135-acre property.

The McAlpin family sold the land to Abe Katz in 1933 and in 1981 it was sold for $1.625 million to Stanley J. Harte, who had the idea to develop the property with co-ops and 59 single-family residences, complete with bridle and jogging paths, 50 acres of preserved meadows, and community tennis courts.

The property's orginal farmhouse also still also exists on the property with Stuart Suna, co-founder of Silvercup studios and former chair of the Hamptons Film Festival currently residing in it.
