Clintons Reportedly Looking To Buy in East Hampton

No stranger to the area, Bill and Hillary Clinton may plant some roots here.

The Clintons could be your new neighbor.

According to The MailOnline, former President Bill Clinton and outgoing Secretary of State Hillary Clinton are shopping for a house in East Hampton.

The couple has spent several August vacations in estates they rented here. The former president even made a surprise stop at the annual Artists-Writers softball game during a trip to the village. During Hurricane Irene in 2011, the Clintons rode out the storm at their rental home, and Bill Clinton celebrated his 65th birthday at Babette's.

Saunders & Associates, a Bridgehampton-based real estate firm which helped them find a $19 million house to rent, is reportedly searching for the house.

Hillary Clinton is leaving office next week amid much speculation that she will run for President in 2016.

The MailOnline reviewed several houses that Saunders' has on the market that the Clintons could be interested in. To check them out and for the full story, click here.

Where do you think the Clintons should buy a home? Tell us in the comments below.

I couldn't be happier that the Clinton's might be East Hampton residents. They have served our country well and are two of the great Americans of our times. Looking forward to it. They seem to like the Lilly Pond La. area. (Dont we all?) I wish them luck in their search.

Will you shut up already. You haven't won a single person to your side with your endless drivel.
JOE CITIZEN January 25, 2013 at 02:53 PM
Yes Patriot, you and Preliator are truly the voices of reason in an unreasonable world. I can't thank you enough for your well thought out, fact based discussions on the subjects of gun control, presidential elections, immigration and whatever else you feel like attaching yourself to.

I think we could (and have) done much worse than having public-service minded residents move in. The more the merrier. Though it might be tough to be the next door neighbor.
Preliator January 25, 2013 at 03:45 PM
2nd amendment not enough, now you want to take away my 1st? Ah, fascism, alive and well in the Hamptons.
bits barnes January 25, 2013 at 03:48 PM
bill clinton travels around chappaqua without a strong security presence. after the initial move in most residents treated them as they would any other resident. it would be much worse if lady gaga moved in......

Bill & Hillary Welcome to the Hamptons !!!
JOE CITIZEN January 25, 2013 at 04:44 PM
Thank you for proving my point for me. You dive directly into rants about fascism and John Kerry which has nothing to do with the Clintons moving to E.H. Next you'll say that their moving here is the reason there isn't a dirt bike track.

If my opinion matters, I don't think there's any reason to attack each other on this forum. My opinion is this; I don't happen to think the Clintons are wonderful people and wouldn't want all that Men in Black presence, nor the traffic they will bring along. But, they have a right, as anyone else does, to live wherever they choose to and can afford to. Why wouldn't they want to be in EH? We do, don't we?
ViralGrain January 25, 2013 at 06:34 PM
Weather you know it or not, the "men in black" have been here for a long time already. Without mentioning names there are kin of former presidents and others who are members of our community, who have lived in the area for decades who all receive security. Nothing would change. In a way he is saving the country money by being here since no extraordinary special provisions will have to be put in place that is not already here. Maybe in the beginning people would want to say hello, but before he knows it he will be like anyone else here. Stuck in traffic and getting over charged for everything and looking forward to Labor Day when the summer Hampton's warriors leave. I think any community would be blessed to have him as a resident. He deserves just as much as anyone to be able to take his dogs on the beach, do some fishing, and have a normal life and enjoy the things that we take for granted. I think he would be a friend to the community not like some who have moved in to hide behind their gates and buy up stores on main street to leave them vacant in the winter, or run over their help because they cut back their roses to much. (no names mentioned) I welcome Mr. Clinton and hope he has the fun here and relaxes. He may not be perfect but he is a better man then me and most others who has had more responsibility then all of us put together. God bless him.

You say "until people like me came here" Ive been here my entire life, as have 13 other generations of my family. So I would say that we had the whole town until people like you came along. I don't drink starbucks, And since you are so into correcting peoples post, you should know that if you want to call me a loser, you should do it with only 1 "O". I welcome the Clintons into this town. Not because I agree with any of their politics, but because that's what you do if you want to have a friendly, enjoyable neighborhood.
